As a leader in the business world and the educational world, I have experienced everything from "It's lonely at the top" to "Everyone firing on all cylinders." Fortunately, I have been blessed to have experienced more of the latter, which has propelled me to the work I do today. From a very wise leader, I learned,

"No organization can rise above the constraints of their leader."

This holds true whether we are talking about not only a business - it includes the structure of a family, a team, a school, a city council, a board of directors - the list is endless. Bringing out the best in people, including ourselves, is an ongoing process - there is no destination.
